Pathogen Surveillance
Tracking diarrhoea-causing viral and bacterial pathogens among children and monitoring their occurrence across populations.
Tracking enteric pathogen diversity to understand infection outcomes and strengthen public-health responses.
Exploring enteric pathogens through microbiology, molecular investigation, and data-informed public health research.
Tracking diarrhoea-causing viral and bacterial pathogens among children and monitoring their occurrence across populations.
Characterizing circulating genotypes, strains, and genetic markers to understand pathogen diversity and patterns of transmission.
Combining classical molecular methods with sequence-based genomics to improve pathogen detection and characterization.
Connecting laboratory findings with epidemiological data to investigate infection outcomes and antimicrobial resistance in human and environmental samples.
The Enteric Pathogens Intelligence Lab investigates real-world infectious disease problems by combining classical molecular genetics, advanced sequence-based genomics, and epidemiological data from human patients.
We aim to track genotypes and strains of diarrhoea-causing viral and bacterial pathogens among children, while characterizing the distribution and genetic markers of antimicrobial-resistant pathogens in human and environmental samples. By integrating laboratory findings with epidemiological information, we seek to understand pathogen diversity, relevant confounding factors, and infection outcomes.
